    Smartphones and Visitor Management Systems

Handheld technology already increases security for many home owners and corporations are looking toward smart devices to change the way security is accomplished.  Corporate security includes not only physical security, but also visitor and identity management that prevents unwanted visitors from entering secured facilities.  This level of security can all be done through use of smartphones.

Many companies “are eager to observe, control, and interact” with their security systems through handheld devices such as smartphones (Goodwin, 2012).  Security applications are moving from corporate servers and desktop computers into handheld devices such as iPhones, iPads, and Android-based devices.

Smartphones have become the norm for the general public and have become the method organizations are keeping their employees safe and buildings secure (Goodwin, 2012).

Hunt Engineering Systems has developed a smartphone application called MobileMAX that allows users to manage visitors while away from a guard station.  MobileMAX is used in conjunction with our MAX Visitor and Credential Management System.
